Rev. Robert E. McClish, II
Pastor Robert E. McClish, II, or “Pastor Rob,” as he is affectionately known, has been in ministry since the age of 15. For over 23 years as a licensed minister and 13 years of pastoring, he has dedicated his ministerial life to building healthy relationships, enriching families, and connecting all generations to the love of Christ. At age 25, he served as the Senior Pastor of Living Water Baptist Church, Fort Worth TX, where he was dedicated to discipleship, evangelism, and positive male involvement. His connection with the community garnered partnerships with NFL players and other community leaders.
Pastor Rob McClish II heeded to the word God accepted the call and became the ninth Pastor of the historic Washington Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, MO in October of 2017. He believes he was called to “build bridges to courageous living through God’s love and the empowerment from His Word” (Joshua 1:8). Since his installation, Pastor McClish has hit the ground running. Under his leadership, Pastor Rob has been a conduit to connect the church to its community. He has increased the church’s social media presence, established ministries for men (Men of Joshua), women (Daughters of the King) and youth. A servant leader who leads by example, Pastor Rob is dedicated to restoring the community by empowering Wash Tab members to be active stakeholders.
In addition to his work of the ministry, he is a member of the Clergy Coalition of Metropolitan St. Louis, has actively participated in community panel and forum on violence. He was named “Pastor of the Year” by the Berean District for in July 2018. Prior to becoming the shepherd of Washington Tabernacle, Pastor McClish served as the Lead Pastor of Radical Praise Baptist Church in Wichita, KS where members were taught to grow biblically and model being “a church that not only has service, but a church that does service.” Under his collaborative leadership, a community relations program has sponsored a $26,000 renovation project for Radical Praise Baptist Church to foster services and a safe place for run-a-way and homeless youth. Through other community partnerships, approximately 150 families were served food every month; marriages have been saved, and many unsaved have found their identity in Christ, and are welcomed into the Family of GOD.
In addition, Robert McClish was named one of Wichita’s 40 Under 40 Most Influential Leaders by the Wichita Business Journal in 2016.Pastor Robert E. McClish’s educational accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Christian Theology (with an emphasis in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Care). He is overjoyed and grateful to proclaim completion of his Doctorate Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Pastoral Counseling in 2019, from Easter Christian University. Pastor McClish is the founder of Life Care Counseling Center, established in Wichita, KS, whose goal is to provide spiritual healing tools for healthy relationships, and to promote family enrichment. He is continuing his private practice as a therapist to the community in St. Louis, MO. Pastor Rob is excited about everything that God is doing. He has devoted his life to building bridges from the church to the community while connecting all families to the love of Christ.
